      Description

This hands-on course surveys and provides practice using core business 
and legal research tools on the Web. Company research sources for job 
seekers and for investors are identified. Small business start-up, 
financing, managing, growing and home-based business research 
information resources are explored. Patent and trademark searching and 
other basic business legal reference tools as well as business related 
tax information and regulation sites are included. Legal information 
including court cases, bills, laws, administrative rules and regulations 
from Ohio and Federal sources are highlighted.

Core Business and Legal Topics will include:

* Essential Business Definitions: Public, Private, 10K Reports, Stocks, etc.
* Company Research for Job Seekers: Key Web Sites
* Company and Industry Research for Investors: Key Web Sites
* Small Business Start-Up, Planning, Financing, Marketing, Growing, and 
Managing: Key Web Sites (Ohio and National)
* Home-Based Business Information on the Web (Ohio specific)
* U. S. Patent and Trademark Searching
* Legal Reference Core Tools
* Legal Reference for Consumers: Family law, finding legal counsel, 
local laws and regulations, bankruptcy, etc.
* Legal Reference for Business: Contracts, leases, employment 
agreements, incorporation, liability, etc. (Ohio State and Federal)
* Court decisions (Ohio State and Federal)
* Bills and Public Laws (Ohio State and Federal)
* Administrative Rules and Regulations (Local, Ohio State and Federal)
