Spotlight On WebJunction Ohio Courses…” Amigos Library Services  ”

Just introduced, the State Library is pleased to announce five new courses available from WebJunction Ohio. The Amigos Library Services courses are now yours for the taking.
 
Available at WebJunction Ohio oh.webjunction.org these online continuing education courses from the Amigos Library Services.  Unlike the other courses, these Amigos courses are live instruction, from the convenience of your office computer.
 
Access is simple, visit the WJOH website oh.webjunction.org and log in using your WJOH account, select the “Course Catalog” tab and follow the instructions to register and begin the selected course.
As part of the WebJunction Ohio service, these courses are available at no charge, for any Ohio library staff member. Amigos Library Services courses include:

Basic Digitization: Everyday Imaging
This online workshop provides a solid introduction to library staff who want to start using digital imaging technology for ILL, web pages and other basic applications.  

MARC 101
This online class offers an introduction to MARC format. It is a beginner level course. 

FRBR: How it can help you prepare for RDA
FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) was created in 1998 and is the basis for the new RDA (Resource Description and Access). Come and explore the new vocabulary and the bones of FRBR. 

Tools for the Reference Desk
This course explores a variety of online tools, from blogs, wikis, to free chat software and web-based platforms from which you can engage your users at the reference desk. 


Tech Topics: Library 2.0
For some, Library 2.0 is new and uncharted territory. For others, it's the same thing we've been doing for years. Find out where the term originated, what it actually means, and how it intertwines with Web 2.0.
