[OPLINLIST] Stumper/Alien child...

Hopefully someone out there will know the author and title of this book.
 
Patron rememberes the book probably from the early 1960s.  It is about an alien child.  The way people know this child is an alien is by his or her boots.  This alien child has two human friends.  She remembers this book as being one that she got from a book club, possibly Weekly Reader or one of the clubs that would have been out then.  
 
If anyone can provide me with a title and author, this patron would be thrilled, as she would like to read this book again.
