[OPLINLIST] Stolen DVDs

If I found a large number of our items at a re-sale shop, I would get
the police involved.

Luckily I have not had that happen here, but in my previous position I
called in the police. When they went to retrieve the stolen property,
it got the store owners attention. After that the store owners are much
more careful in what they buy! In fact, they would call us if people
tried to sell them library property.

It had no markings that we had withdrawn it, and when I checked the record, it was listed as lost on someone's card. I will give the patron the benefit of the doubt who donated it to Goodwill, but it does happen even to books.
