[OPLINLIST] Stumper..Appalachian trail book...

 Okay, here's the stumper for today.  Patron is hunting for a book for a possible Xmas present.  Here is what she remembers about the plot:

The book was read probably 15+ years ago, so we may be looking at a 1980s (or before) copyright date.  The story was about the Appalachian Trail.  It was a kids'/teen book...the story concerned 2 kids (teens?) that hiked through the Appalachian trail and it described what they had to do to survive.

If anyone can provide me with an author/title, that would be SUPER!
