Westlake Porter Public Library is seeking a full-time Business Librarian:

ALA-accredited MLS is required. One to three years of public library experience preferred.  Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of library science is required.  Working knowledge of both traditional and electronic reference sources is essential.  Must be able to effectively and efficiently search online databases and the Internet.  Work experience in business, economics, investments, government documents preferred. 

Ability to work with the Windows based operating system, word-processing, spreadsheets, email, and library software programs at a highly proficient level.  Comfort, familiarity and basic usage skills for new information technologies as well as strong written, verbal, customer service and interpersonal skills are required.  Ability to communicate and function effectively in a team-oriented environment is critical. 

Under the direction of the Reference Services Manager, the Business Librarian is responsible for staffing the Reference and Information Desks, planning and conducting of programs on a regular basis, selection of business, investing, legal, and career materials, and serving as liaison to community groups, professional organizations, Chamber of Commerce, and assistance with business development and entrepreneurship.  *Please see the posting on our website  at www.westlakelibrary.org/?q=node/72 for more information about the position and how to apply: *
