[OPLINLIST] Watch and Follow ILEAD USA Keynote Speakers

Tuesday is the kickoff of ILEAD USA (Innovative Librarians Explore, Apply, and Discover), a multi-state immersive continuing education program that develops library leaders through projects based on community needs using technology.  Based on the successful ILEAD U program held by Illinois State Library in 2010 and 2011, this year participants in Colorado, Utah, Ohio and Iowa will join the program. Sessions will be held simultaneously in each of the five states.  The first of three sessions runs from March 26-28.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by web streaming on the following dates:

  *   Tuesday March 26, 11:30 a.m. EST, David Lankes will welcome ILEAD USA participants, professor and Dean's Scholar for the New Librarianship at Syracuse University's School of Information Studies, director of the Information Institute of Syracuse and author of The Atlas of New Librarianship.  Anne Craig, Gwen Harrison and Andrew Bullen of the Illinois State Library will join David.
  *   Wednesday, March 27, 11:30 a.m. EST, John Emerson, New York City based activist, graphic designer, writer, and programmer.  Emerson's address "Have You Seen This?" presents ways to get the word out about new projects and initiatives, looking at techniques for online and offline marketing, using real world examples and taking into account real world library budgets.
  *   Thursday March 28, 11:30 a.m. EST, Marshall Breeding, independent consultant, speaker, and author.  Breeding's address is entitled "The Next Generation of Library Automation and Discovery: Key Issues and Trends"
