[OPLINLIST] 2014 Ohio Teen Video Challenge winner announced

Congratulations to the Ida Rupp Public Library and the teen creators of Ohio's 2014 Teen Video Challenge winning video, "Super Readers<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwmcvaOeho4>"!

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) has announced the winners of the 2014 Teen Video Challenge, a national competition for teens to get involved with reading and their public library's summer reading programs.  Winning videos were selected at the state level to be recognized as official CSLP Teen Video Challenge winners for 2014.

This video competition is in its fourth year of encouraging teens to get involved with promoting summer reading and public libraries, with a focus on the CSLP 2014 slogan, "Spark a Reaction."  Each participating state selected one winning video to be named the official CSLP Teen Video Challenge state winner for 2014. Twenty-six states and over one hundred teens participated in the creation of these winning videos.  All of the winning videos can be used by all teens and all public libraries to promote summer reading nationwide.

Thanks to all the teens who submitted entries for this year's contest.  I encourage you to check out all the videos that were submitted across the nation for the Teen Video Challenge.  I got to watch all of them at the CSLP annual meeting, and each was as impressive and wonderful as the last, seriously.  What an creative, high-quality, funny, and thoughtful group of videos.  It is truly an inspiration to see what teens can do together, and it is clear from all these videos that teens value their public libraries.  All the state winners may be viewed here:

Ohio runners-up include "Spark a Reaction", produced by teens at the Stark County District Library, Plain Branch, and "Libraries Spark Reactions", produced by teens at the Mercer County District Public Library.

CSLP is a consortium of states working together, sharing ideas, expertise, and costs to produce a high-quality summer reading program for children, teens, and adults.
