[OPLINLIST] The NEW KnowItNow24x7 coming July 1!

[KnowItNow Support]

On July 1, patrons of KnowItNow24x7 will begin using LibraryH3lp's chat widget to access the statewide virtual reference service. Below is information on two aspects of the service with which libraries can help! 


Widgets 
Although the current links to http://www.knowitnow.org will continue to provide access to the statewide service, libraries are *highly* encouraged to post the new KIN24x7 chat widget to their website to provide immediate access to KIN24x7 for their patrons. You can sign up to receive the necessary code snippet for your library's site at http://community.knowitnow.org/node/159008. The code will be sent out to libraries during July. 


Profiles 
All libraries are also highly encouraged to fill out a Profile with information that you deem would be helpful to librarians helping your patrons via KnowItNow24x7. LibraryH3lp and ChatStaff have set up a Profile Editor to facilitate this and have provided a sample profile (See file attached at http://community.knowitnow.org/node/159563). Profiles should be link-heavy and the text should not duplicate the info in the links. This is preferred since links are likely to be more up-to-date than text. The alert at the top of the sample profile is an optional item that can be added by libraries. Also, profiles should have a date added (to keep track of the most current information). 


To fill out a profile for your library, go to the URL below, login with the credentials given, select your library from the list, and provide as much information as you are able.
