[OPLINLIST] Andy Ingraham Dwyer promoted to Chief Information Officer of the State Library

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce the promotion of Andy Ingraham Dwyer to Chief Information Officer. As Chief Information Officer, Andy is the Supervisor for the Information Systems & Technology Department. He is responsible for advising and setting the technology direction for the agency and directing and coordinating operation of all State Library IT services and projects. Andy is responsible for designing the infrastructure and supervising the State Library information technology staff in support of the unique services that the agency provides to our customers.  This includes the State Library catalog, participation in the OhioLINK shared consortium, and remote access to numerous electronic database resources. Andy also serves as the Chief Privacy Point of Contact for the State Library. He responsible for establishing and enforcing agency procedures, policies, and standards such as the Agency Privacy and Security Policy, Network Security Policy, and Protecting Privacy Policy.

"Andy has been an asset to the State Library since joining the staff and it is wonderful to have the opportunity to promote him," said State Librarian Beverly Cain.  "He has a great deal of IT experience gained in a variety of public and private sector settings that will lend itself nicely to this position."


Andy joined the State Library in December 2012 as a an Infrastructure Specialist 2 in the Information Systems and Technology Department, where he was responsible for network security and administration, UNIX and Windows server administration, and web application support.  He also helped support many services that we provide to state agencies, state employees, and the Ohio library communities.

Prior to joining the State Library staff, Andy ran his own computer consulting services business for close to two decades, supporting small businesses, non-profits and individuals in their technology needs.  Prior to that Andy worked for America Online as a webmaster. Andy grew up in the Washington, DC area.  He studied Computer Science at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
