COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT LIBRARIAN

Full-time (40 hours per week)

Shaker Heights Public Library is seeking a highly motivated, innovative full-time Librarian to engage organizations and individuals in the community and build partnerships to meet community goals. We are a busy, first-ring suburban library serving a diverse population.  The Community Engagement Librarian will develop and maintain community partnerships, identify opportunities for Library participation in local community events and create innovative programming.  Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and excellent listening, networking and communication skills required. Must have a proven record of community involvement. Need strong technology skills, ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.  Must enjoy working with all kinds of people.  Responsibilities also include providing reference and readers' advisory services to customers, assisting customers in locating, selecting, and reserving library materials, and developing and maintaining a part of the library's collection.  Will serve as Senior Person as assigned.  MLS from an ALA accredited school required.



This position works a variety of day, evening, and weekend hours.  Flexibility to attend community events is necessary.
