Athens Community Center, Athens, Ohio
Cost: $15 (to cover lunch)

Take 5 is a day of dialogue and creative experience for people who work with teens and youth in libraries and cultural institutions.  The fifth annual Take 5 event is shaping up to be extraordinary.  Opening speaker Miguel Figueroa, director of the American Library Association's Center for the Future of Libraries<http://www.ala.org/transforminglibraries/future>, will highlight trends and discuss what they mean for our work with young people.  Interactive, experiential sessions will include Discovery Kitchen Tasting Tables, Book-a-Bike, Survival Skills, Pop-Up Makerspace, and more.  Attendees will also work together to address tricky issues in teen services, and, through a memory-sharing process, will move dialogue and action towards the heart of what teen services encompasses.

Take 5 also offers great optional activities on Tuesday evening, May 3 and after the event closes on May 4.  Come early or stay late to explore Athens and enhance your Take 5 experience with dinner opportunities, a walk in the woods with naturalists from Rural Action, and a tour of Ohio University's Alden Library.  Registrants will be contacted by email with details about these activities and an invitation to participate in an attendee-led poster session during Take 5.
