what you can’t eat, but what you can. Learn how moving away from processed
foods and utilizing a plant-based diet can lead to a healthier you. Copies

*Stephanie Knipper | The Peculiar Miracles of Antoinette Martin*
Thursday, August 18 @ 7:00 p.m.
Sisters Rose and Lily Martin were inseparable when they were kids. As
adults, they’ve been estranged for years, until circumstances force them to
come together to protect Rose’s daughter. Ten-year-old Antoinette has a
severe form of autism that requires constant care and attention. She has
never spoken a word, but she has a powerful gift that others would give
anything to harness: she can heal things with her touch. Antoinette’s gift,
though, puts her own life in danger, as each healing comes with an
increasingly deadly price. As Rose—the center of her daughter’s
life—struggles with her own failing health, and Lily confronts her
anguished past, they, and the men who love them, come to realize the
sacrifices that must be made to keep this very special child safe. Offered
in partnership with The Book Loft, copies of Knipper’s book will be
available for sale and signing.

*Cara Mangini | The Vegetable Butcher*
Thursday, September 15 @ 7:00 p.m.
Cara Mangini comes from a long line of butchers. Her Italian grandfather
and great-grandfather gracefully cut tenderloins and butterflied chickens
for a living. Mangini also wields a knife, but hers is used against the
curves of butternut squash and the stalks of freshly picked Brussels
sprouts at Little Eater, her vegetable- inspired restaurant, produce stand,
and artisanal foods boutique in Columbus, Ohio. Marrying the art of
butchery with the versatility of gorgeous seasonal produce, Cara
Mangini’s *TheVegtable
Butcher: How to Select, Prep, Slice, Dice, and Masterfully Cook Vegetables
from Artichokes to Zucchini* demystifies the world of vegetables, showing
exactly how to prepare an artichoke—plus peel a tomato, chiffonade kale,
slice kohlrabi into carpaccio, break down a celery root, and cut
cauliflower into steaks. Along the way, Mangini shares over 150
mouthwatering recipes that put vegetables front and center.

*Lee Martin | Late One Night*
Tuesday, September 27 @ 7:00 p.m.
Lee Martin is the Pulitzer Prize Finalist author of *The Bright Forever*
and teaches in the MFA program at The Ohio State University. His latest
book, *Late One Night,* examines the devastating effect of rumors and the
resilience of one family in the face of the ultimate tragedy. On a night no
one will ever forget, Della Black and three of her seven children are
killed in a horrific fire in their trailer. As the surviving children are
caught in the middle of a custody battle between their well-intentioned
neighbor and their father and his pregnant mistress, new truths about what
really happened the night of the fire come to light. Ronnie and his
girlfriend, Brandi Tate, maintain his innocence – he’s a loving, caring
father who wants to do everything he can to protect his family. But as the
gossip continues, Ronnie feels his children (and, eventually, Brandi)
pulling away from him. Soon enough, he finds himself at a crossroads –
should he allow gossip mongers to seal his fate, or should he fight to
prove that he’s not the monster people paint him to be?
