[OPLINLIST] Library SFSP Sites: apply for a free wellness activity kit from the Dairy Council

Good morning,

Is your library a USDA Summer Food Service Program site?  If you serve meals or snacks for 8 or more weeks during the summer, you may apply to receive a free Fuel Up To Play 60 Summer Meal Enrichment Activities Kit, courtesy of the American Dairy Council Mideast and the Ohio Department of Education.

The Summer Meal Enrichment Activities Kit is bundled in a Fuel Up to Play 60 tote bag.  It includes an Enrichment Activities Playbook with over ten weeks of fun physical activities for all ages, plus 20 pieces sidewalk chalk, 2 Frisbees, 2 beach balls, Take a Chance on Physical Activity Poster and dice set, set of Food Cards, 101 Tips to Integrate Nutrition into Physical Activity brochure, and Milk Mustache stickers.  These tools are designed to help SFSP site leaders build useful skills and encourage healthy habits among the children you serve.

The kit is a well-aligned resource for libraries using the CSLP's "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read" theme or other sports/wellness-related SRP theme.  It's also good to use throughout the year, to invite physical activity at your library.

The survey refers to pick-up dates for selected SFSP sites to obtain their kits in Columbus.  Participating public libraries may also arrange for me to send their kits via statewide delivery.

Also, don't worry about the "in good standing with ODE" criterion - you are in good standing.
