Hi Dee Ann,

Here are Avon Lake Public Library information on cards.  There are only 18
limited cards currently and the profile was created about a year ago.

Any resident of Ohio may get an Avon Lake Public Library card. Show us your
photo ID with your current address. If your photo ID does not have your
current address, show us an alternate document, such as, a utility bill or
bank document. Children must be at least 3 years old. A parent/legal
guardian must sign for a child’s library card through age 15. *Children,
ages 16 and 17, may get their own card with proper ID.*

*However, we also instituted a Limited profile card: *

LIMITED CARD profile

•    The LIMITED profile is used for young adults in grades 7-12 (typically
ages 12-18).

•    No ID is required.

•    Parent signature is not required.

•    The Limited profile allow young adults to borrow up to *5 items*.

•    The Limited profile does *NOT allow* patrons to borrow *Hot Picks, TV
series, or Video games*.

•    Fines same as regular card. Accrue fines over $10 the card will be
blocked.

•    LIMITED card in good standing can be converted to a regular card upon
high school graduation.

When a student requests a library card, and their parent is NOT present to
sign for them, they can be issued a LIMITED card.  *REMEMBER: Students age
16 & 17 year olds, with proper ID, may have a non-restricted (PUBLIC
profile) library card.*
If the student has a BLOCKED card, fines may be forgiven on a minor’s
BLOCK/COLLECTION card.  *Typically these bills were accrued by the
parent/legal guardian when the child was younger than 12 and/or the
materials were adult materials. *The student’s previous card will be
replaced with a new LIMITED card free of charge.   The student is
responsible for all items borrowed on the LIMITED card.   Remind the
student to notify the library immediately if the card is lost or stolen.
