[OPLINLIST] ANNOUNCEMENT: Erin Francoeur Named Executive Director of the Westerville Public Library

The Library Board of Trustees has hired Erin C. Francoeur as the new Executive Director of the Westerville Public Library, to begin on June 12, 2017.  Francoeur is currently the Director of the Shasta Public Libraries in Redding, CA, having previously served as Director of the Finney County Public Library in Garden City, KS.  She has over nine years of professional library experience.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to work together with the staff and board to bring Westerville the best in library services, programs, and resources," Ms. Francoeur said. "My goals for the library include increasing access to both traditional and digital resources, planning best uses of library spaces, nourishing community connections, and increasing innovative programming."

Jack Shinnock, Library Board of Trustees secretary and chair of the director search committee said, "We are so pleased to have Erin Francoeur join us as our new executive director.  Erin brings not only her expertise of library science to Westerville, but also her passion for early childhood education and her interest in embracing technology."

"The Board of Trustees conducted an extensive nation-wide search utilizing an executive recruitment firm," explains Shinnock.  "The search committee interviewed six top candidates and selected the two finalists interviewed by the entire Board.  We felt that Erin would honor our library's rich history while propelling us forward as not just the 'best' but as the 'next' library - the one that others want to emulate."

Ms. Francoeur holds a master's degree in library science from Emporia State University, a master's degree in religious studies from Arizona State University, and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Indiana University.  She will succeed Don W. Barlow who is retiring after 28 years on June 1st.
