Northwest Regional Library System (NORWELD) – Director

Empower the Northwest Ohio library community and foster collaboration and communication between library staff as the next Director of the Northwest Regional Library System.  The 13-member governing Board of Trustees seeks an energetic and engaging Director who will create a new strategic vision and continue to build on NORWELD’s esteemed reputation.  NORWELD serves its 48 member public libraries with a knowledgeable five-person office staff and an approximately $250,000 annual operating budget. Office Location:  181 ½ South Main Street, Bowling Green, Ohio  43402

Minimum Requirements:

  *   ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree
  *   Minimum of five years experience working in public libraries
  *   Ability to envision and promote the role of the regional system in the future
  *   Solid understanding of the philosophies, trends, and “best practices” in the library and information technology fields
  *   Outstanding collaborative leadership skills
  *   Frequent regional and statewide travel in personal vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Previous supervisory experience in public libraries
  *   Successful experience in developing/managing budgets and writing grants

Compensation:  Annual salary of $41,500 (working 25.0 hours per week) plus a selection of benefits
