MidPointe Library - Community Engagement – Adult Programmer – Part Time



This opening is eligible for a conditional $1,200 hiring bonus for a limited time only!



As part of the Community Engagement team, the adult programmer will provide system-wide in person and recorded programs, classes, and events to our diverse community.



As an adult programmer, your work shifts will be filled with a mix of creativity, performing, and customer service all rolled into one great job! You'll plan, prepare, and present in-person and recorded programs, events, and activities for the adults in our diverse communities. You'll travel to the communities in our service area that include Liberty, Monroe, Middletown, Trenton and West Chester, set up your program, present it, get program evaluations, assist patrons afterwards with their book selections, tear down, and go to the next program.




To Be Successful, You Will Need To:

  *   Have a high school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelors or a Master’s degree in an associated field is helpful.
  *   Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience creating, preparing & presenting programs, events, or classes.
  *   Have a valid driver's license, be insurable, & have reliable means of transportation to travel to the different program sites.
  *   Provide excellent customer service demonstrating a professional, courteous, & respectful attitude.
  *   Collaborate with the Programming Coordinator, to develop ideas for diversified & inclusive services & programs in response to identified community needs for adults.
  *   Write program and/or event descriptions for the programming calendar & blog posts.
  *   Be familiar with & keep up to date with applicable new trends in library programming & community engagement practices.
  *   Have excellent computer skills and be proficient with software such as the library catalog, databases, graphics programs, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office.
  *   Have the ability to plan, prioritize, manage, and coordinate projects while meeting deadlines.
  *   Have an expert level knowledge of popular reading materials, movies, music, and interests of adults.
  *   Effectively speak, listen, read (including cursive), and write in English.


Physical Abilities:

Have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish, produce & view a wide variety of materials in both print & electronic format as needed for the position. Also, as needed, must be able to move carts, crates & library equipment that could weigh up to 200 pounds.



Work Schedule:

This is a part-time 24 hour per week job. You must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as required by the position.



Salary:

The pay range for this job is $14.80 - $23.68 per hour, the rate depends on experience.
