It was really bad when webMAIL first went live, but
the timeout was extended.  (I thought the timeout
was half an hour; I'll check with the support center
to make sure it hasn't been reset to a shorter time).

When I'm working in webMAIL, I often hit the "Preview"
button.  It lets the server know that you're still
working, and saves a "draft" of your message without
you having to exit and go back in.
