Office of Information Technology Customer Update - May 26, 2006

 

 

Scheduled Maintenance:

 

When: Every Tuesday

 

Time: 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM

 

May 30, June 6, 13, 20 - OIT engineers will be migrating customers to
the new Columbus Core Network.  These moves will be coordinated with the
customers by their customer engineers.

 

Tuesday - May 30, 2006

 

Turn down BBSOCC and BBSOC9.  These two routers are no longer needed due
to the migration to the Columbus Core Network.

 

Sunday - June 4, 2006

 

On Sunday, June 4, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM we will be migrating T1
customers from older routers located in the Rhodes State Office Tower to
a new router.  This consolidation will reduce the number of hub routers
serving these customers from 7 to 1.   The router we are installing will
allow OIT to provide a high level network services, including VoIP and
QoS.   We are anticipating a 5 to 15 minute outage during this window
while each customer is being moved.

Tuesday - June 15, 2006

 

Turn down BBSOCD, BBRHOH and BBRHOI.  These three routers are no longer
needed due to the migration to the Columbus Core Network.

 

Columbus Core GE Migration Update:

 

As of Friday, May 26, 2006, we have migrated 87% (91 % at SOCC, 82 % at
Rhodes) of the customer connections to the new Columbus Core Network.

 

Completed Maintenance:

 

OIT engineers migrated customers to the new Columbus Core Network.

 

Monthly Firewall Maintenance:

 

When: Third Tuesday of every Month

 

Next Scheduled Maintenance: June 20, 2006

 

Time: 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

 

The Network Security Group will be performing firewall maintenance. Less
than three minute outages are expected during the maintenance window.
