[OPLINTECH] Bandwidth

You might also check to make sure they are not using your network to download torrents and other software with applications such as bit torrent or Utorrent.. I know that we had an open access point and with some pretty easily available software you can bypass any filters and be downloading software and many libraries do not filter as we do in the schools so you would be open to such traffic and it can kill a network quick.

Help techies,

We have wireless access for patrons with no limits and no policy. We do have it password protected but right now we don't change the password. Our problem is we suspect a patron of hogging our bandwidth, we don't know what he is doing but we have gotten several calls for OPLIN support letting us know that we are reaching our limit.

What are some policies in place that your library is using?
What Limits do you have?
How often do you change the password?

Please respond to me off list.
