Geauga County Public Library has the following open position.  Please excuse
any cross postings.

Position Title: Server Operator

Library: Based at Administration Center

Classification: Library Assistant IV

Hours per week: 40

Qualifications: :   High School diploma or GED required;  Associates degree
preferred .  Three years relevant experience required.  A+ and MCSA
 certifications preferred. Ability to script in Java or Perl helpful. Must
possess valid driver's license, vehicle and proof of valid auto insurance.
 Should have sufficient familiarity with Windows server and workstation
operating systems, printers and office software to troubleshoot most
problems.   Working knowledge of Active Directory, Domain Controllers,
Anti-virus programs and ISA Firewall
Problem solving skills essential.  Able to work accurately and independently
with minimum supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills in
addition to normal courtesy and tact needed in
working with department and library staff. Dependable work habits. Work
schedule flexible to flexible to meet library needs.

Staff Supervised: None

Reports to: Computer Systems Administrator

Scheduling needs: Weekdays with one evening and weekend hours as
needed.  On call for emergencies.

Summary of Duties: Operator responsible for network servers and sufficiently
conversant with new technologies and software  to troubleshoot most problems
on servers or workstations.   May travel to
any of 7 GCPL library locations as required.

Hourly rate: $15.25/hour
