[OPLINTECH] New topic - Fax issues

I am attempting to identify some 'squirrely' problems we have recently
had with a couple of our fax units (dedicated lines). Any ideas would
be appreciated.

1: When going between our branch 'S' (937 area code - Frontier) and
any of our other branches (740 area code - Chillicothe Telephone) we
receive a busy/no response /NG code even though the phone is answered
and handshaking occurs. This occurs on either phone line at the
location. Frontier repair indicates that the line quality is good
and there is no noticeable static. If the fax unit is brought to one
of our other branches (same LATA), there are no problems with any
connections. I have tried various initiation delay settings.

2: A second fax machine at a 740 area code-Chillicothe Telephone
branch is similarly unable to complete calls to SEO (AT&T) or Golden
Buckeye (877 toll free) and does not receive from SEO

Problems in both units appear to be related to connections across
LATAs, and local line segments appear to be clear. What additional
protocol issues or local settings could produce these issues, and what
success have others had in troubleshooting across LATA barriers? The
local carriers all say that 'everything is fine'.

I have tried with ecm mode both on and off and used both direct long
distance as well as 'select carrier' prefix.

Thanks in advance for any hints you might have.
