Patron came in today with a DVD-R that only showed a desktop.ini file

He had put it in his PC and inadvertently clicked on the windows format prompt.
He said he then immediately turned off the PC.
I always wondered what would happen by doing that.

PhotoRec (Digital Picture and File Recovery) was able to retrieve most if not
all the files.
Files were .doc .docx .jpg .txt 's

Runs stand a lone in windows or various linux livecd's such as GParted LiveCD

Have used this open source program before on hard drives and usually recovered
something.
First time I tried it on a DVD.
