[OPLINTECH] Problems with August 2014 Windows Update

Microsoft has since pulled the problematic updates, but if you've already
installed them, might be worth skimming the article:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2465631/microsoft-pulls-august-windows-update-after-crashes.html

It appears mainstream media was reporting this, while Microsoft was(is?)
mum on the problems. If you've installed the latest updates and are now
experiencing BSODs and font rendering problems...good luck! It sounds like
there may be a work-around at least if you don't mind booting Recovery Mode
and mucking around with the registry...
