We are using Mint OS on some old computers being used as standalone catalogs. It was a little easier to configure than Ubuntu for that purpose.

We are not using Ubuntu here at CCPL but I used it in the past, I like edubuntu for kids which is stable, offer variety of learning apps learning apps and yet not a resource hungry.

Thanks

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Ubuntu

I think this was covered a bit not too long ago, but I'm wanting to see how many libraries out there are using Ubuntu on public computers/catalogs. Also what has your experience been with them? I'm looking at using some retired XP computers as catalog Kiosks and run Ubuntu on them. Thoughts, comments?

Thanks,
