[OPLINTECH] Volunteer Management Software

Depending on how many volunteers you're working with and how many people
will have their paws in messing with the data, a simple spreadsheet might
do the trick. A database with a nice interface is great, but also might
have a "great" cost (in setup time, even if the product itself is free). If
just one person is managing the volunteers, then KISS and use something
they might already know how to use or can be easily taught (like a
spreadsheet). You can design it, lock the cells that you don't want the
staffer to screw up, then turn 'em loose on it. If you use a spreadsheet,
then anyone with some experience can also maintain it or tweak it to meet
changing needs. No so with a database or a full software product.

2 cents.
