[OPLINTECH] No Internet access

I’ve seen this problem on one of my home computers several times, though it seems like it has always resolved itself either from A) simply disabling and re-enabling my network connection or B) surfing through websites for 5-10 minutes..

Is there any special library arena software on these systems (like Deepfreeze) that could be helping to make it persistent?

How old are the installations? (ie, when was the last time Windows was installed from scratch?)
7 has been far and away better than any previous versions in this regard, but perhaps this is one of the few things that does start to go after so many years of updates and patches..?

Best of luck.

Joe

Here's the Windows 7/2008 version about the Network Connectivity Status Indicator:

Didn't finish my thought:

Perhaps recent DNS server changes or problems could be at fault. Also firewall.

I seem to recall that Windows checks for Internet connectivity by resolving a particular DNS name. A quick Google search seems to hint that might be true, along with a download.

This might be a clue:

I have a couple Windows 7 computers that have the yellow triangle on the connection icon in the tray that says "No Internet Access". However, I can connect to websites, shared folders on the network, printers, and computers. I have Googled this and have tried several things but still have not been able to resolve this issue. I have updated the updated the NIC and wi-fi drivers but that didn't help. I have uninstalled the devices and drivers and reinstalled but no luck either. I take it from Google results that it is a common problem, but I haven't found the resolution for my issue.

Has anyone seen this issue and been able to resolve it? Do you have any suggestions that I can try?

Thank you.
