Hi Jeff,

Attached is a snapshot of the tech specs page from the i2s website as of today at 9:05. Note that it promises "600 x 600 optical on A0 format."

There was no discussion during contract negotiation of the image size limited to A1 to pass FADGI Level 2 standards. It sounds like they are back pedaling just to pass and get signoff.

My contract is based on meeting the manufacturer’s functionality and performance specs. So, If Kirtas can show me an i2s spec sheet saying the unit will only pass level 2 FADGI at A1, then I’ll have to accept it. If not, I think the scanner should be required to pass at the A0 size.

Jeff,

Was this your understanding of the areal extent over which
a true 600 dpi applied ?....only over an A1 size area ?

Its likely that it will pass FADGI 2 star at this new position.

You move the camera down about a foot for position 2 and then the camera will only see an A1 size area in the optical direction.

Thanks Bart,

So, what is the difference between position 1 and 2 ?

Don
I did all the 600dpi scans with the camera in position 1 and A0 size selected.

Jackie,

Questions answered below.

I am traveling today but here are the abridged answers.

They do not have the targets.
I can do the testing on Wednesday,.....but w/o targets ? ( I can send
the targets but need an acct. number from a courier)
I suspect Toledo would accept the results......but the on-demand
part of this is stretching it a bit.

I will be back in Rochester on Wednesday but will be catching up
on a number of things.

I'm not quite sure what "position" Bart did the originals in

Don
Hello Don,

Per our conversation with i2S today, they have confirmed that you can not achieve 2 star FADGI compliance at 600 DPI A0. In order to pass FADGI, you need the 600DPI at A1 size and camera in position 2.

Our action plan:

1. Send Bart there on Wednesday morning to set the scanner using the recommended settings by i2S.

2. Are the test targets in Toledo?

3. Will you be available on Wednesday to complete the testing if Bart sends you the images?

4. Will Toledo Library accept the testing via email or do they want you on site?

Please let me know what date you are available so we can conclude the testing and have the customer sign off of the install, training and testing.

Thank you.
