Sorry, I am still somewhat confused about this meeting... any additional details surfaced since Weds? I really need to wrangle my working group folks.

Well, we set up Steering Committee calls as a regular thing on the fourth Friday of each month (11am to noon). But unless there's a need for a post-mortem to the Sept. 18 meeting, I think it's likely we may not need the September 25 call.
It's been about 10 days since the Steering Committee co-chairs and the consultants talked about the 9/18 meeting, and then things got busy and we didn't get back to it. I hope I'm not out of line sharing the preliminary plans...

The meeting would be a half-day in the morning, with time for working groups to meet in the afternoon if they choose. The goal of the meeting would be to introduce the working groups to the project and give everyone on the project time with Emily Gore (DPLA) to ask her questions directly. The agenda would be similar to what we did at the kick-off meeting, but we would have the people on the working groups involved as well. It will also allow people to be more detailed in their questions. Here is a rough agenda:

9:00-9:15 Welcome and Intro (Angela)

9:15-10:15 DPLA Overview & what's required of a Service Hub (Emily)

10:15 - 11:00 How Other Service Hubs are organized and staffed (Emily)

11:00 – 12:15 Questions/ State brainstorm - what models would potentially work in Ohio?  why/why not?  (with Emily there to answer questions and make suggestions as needed)

12:15-12:30 - noon Wrap Up/Next steps

In terms of logistics, Emily can run a WebEx video conference with up to five additional feeds. We would host one at the State Library and possibly be able to set up sites in Cleveland, Cinci and Toledo as well.
That's all we got so far.

The first call on my calendar is the fourth Friday in September. Weren't there a bunch of conflicts (vacations, etc.) in August?

Now that the Working Groups have been established, the Steering Committee co-chairs and the consultants have some specific things we would like you to do:

1) Please make one of your first group tasks a review of your charge -- the charges won't be finalized until the groups have had a chance to review and make suggestions. The current draft of the charges is attached.

2) Please make another of your first group tasks development of a general schedule of work that you plan to undertake between now and February.

3) Please share with this list (dplasteering at lists.oplin.org<mailto:dplasteering at lists.oplin.org>) information about any meetings, calls, etc. your group has scheduled.

4) Please put a reminder on your calendar to post status updates to this list at least once a month.
