Please see the email that I received this past Friday from Adrian Turner as
follow-up to our call in April. I'm sure the information will be useful on
our implementation.

Subject: DPLA Ohio discussion follow-up
Hi Liz,
I hope all's well! It was nice to finally meet you in person, at DPLAfest.
I was going through some old notes -- and I'm remiss in not having sent some
follow-ups from a webconference call a few months back with reps. from DPLA
Ohio!
The group had asked about our agreement with contributors, allowing us to
share metadata with DPLA. Our current terms of service agreement is
available at
http://www.cdlib.org/services/access_publishing/dsc/contribute/docs/cdl_dsc_
tos.pdf . We've been obtaining this from new contributors for the past few
years. It specifically indicates that we are sharing metadata with DPLA,
and also making the metadata available under a CC0 dedication.
In the past, we had contributors complete an agreement that didn't
specifically call out DPLA, but we felt that it gave us sufficient latitude
to share factual metadata with DPLA.
As part of the process of launching as a DPLA Content Hub, we notified all
of our contributors via e-mail campaigns, to apprise them of our plans and
information about the process and considerations related to sharing metadata
with DPLA. Here's the wiki we created for contributors:
https://wiki.library.ucsf.edu/display/DPLA/ .
I hope this information is still helpful. Again, I'm very sorry for the
delay.
And I hope all's going well on the DPLA Ohio Service Hub launch.
Best,
-- Adrian
