[SOA] 2009 SOA Education Stipend

The Society of Ohio Archivists is pleased to announce this year's Continuing Education Stipend Scholarship for attendance at "Archival Access & Accessibility: Tradition & Technology" at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio on May 20-22, 2009


Two applicants will be selected to receive a stipend of $100 to cover travel/hotel accommodations and free registration to the conference. 


Eligibility is open to all current SOA members and to all graduate students pursuing a career in archives. 

Applications will be rated based on:

1. A written statement describing how attending the annual conference
will benefit future career goals or his/her current professional
position
2. A biographical sketch listing accomplishments, research interests and
future plans 
3. Applicant's scholarship and contribution to archives, in comparison
with his/her number of years in the field or academic study
4. Applicant's level of financial support for attending the conference 

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2009. The recipients are
expected to attend two days of the conference and will be recognized at
the SOA Business Meeting.  Also, both recipients will be asked to write
an article in the Ohio Archivist reflecting on their experiences at the
conference.
