Hello Friends.  First:  Please share this email with your networks and any non-profit organization in Ohio that may need a grant to help with a history or historic preservation related project (and thanks).

The Local History Office of the Ohio History Connection is happy to announce that the application for History Fund grants for 2015 is now available!  To apply, visit www.ohiohistory.org/historyfund<http://www.ohiohistory.org/historyfund> and click on "History Fund Application."  Applications are due September 3 by 11:59 pm.

To help you with the application process, we're also hosting three "History Fund Help" webinars.  They are scheduled for June 25, July 16, and August 6 and are from 10 - 11:30 am.  All three webinars are the same; just pick the one that's convenient for you to attend.

The webinars are free, but registration is required.  The registration deadline is the Friday before the webinar you plan to attend (so tomorrow for the webinar on June 25). (FYI, five of ten grant recipients from this year attended last year's webinars, so they may give you a "leg up" as you complete your application.)

Grant recipients will be announced at Statehood Day, March 4, 2015.

Three more things:


1.     When your renew your car's registration this year, make sure to buy new Ohio History license plate - the one with the mastodon on it.  $20 from the sale of every license plate goes to History Fund.  To see the plate, visit: http://www.bmv.ohio.gov/sp_history.stm



2.     A tip:  make sure to look over the History Fund Guidelines. and Application Instructions before you apply.  Another tip:  make sure you are using this year's application.  We lightly revise the application every year in response to suggestions from the previous year.  How will you know you have the current, correct application?  It will say "Ohio History Connection."



3.     Just in case you missed it:  We passed our state mandated threshold of $150,000!  As of the end of May, Ohioans have contributed $158,022 in income tax donation through income tax check-off to the History Fund.  Add to that the sales of Ohio History "Mastodon" license plates and donations to History Fund made directly to the Ohio History Connection, and we'll have more money than ever before for grants in 2015.
