CO-ASIS&T/CO-SLA's second annual summer of library tours kicks off Tuesday, May 12 at 10am with a tour of the Nationwide Insurance Library, History and Archives Center, presented by Steve Hausfeld. Free and open to all, but advance reservations required with RSVP to Ashleigh Minor aminor5 at kent.edu<mailto:aminor5 at kent.edu>.

The Nationwide History & Archives Center maintains and preserves the historical records and artifacts for Nationwide and its subsidiary and affiliated organizations. The collection contains nearly 3,000 cubic feet of records, images, audiovisual and artifacts. The Nationwide Library serves as a full-service library and information resource center for the Nationwide enterprise. The library collection numbers approximately 10,000 print titles, and an equal number of ebooks and related digital titles. In addition the Library manages the purchasing of all books and subscriptions for the company, and manages many industry-related secondary research data and information vendor relationships.



Steve Hausfeld is the Manager of the Nationwide Insurance Library and History & Archives Center. Steve came to Nationwide in 2006 to reestablish the heritage management initiative for Nationwide. Prior to coming to Nationwide, Steve was the archivist for the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, D.C., and earlier worked in heritage management consulting. Steve holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University (1995), Master of English with Public History Certificate from Wright State University (1998), and a Master of Science in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University (2010). Steve is current the immediate Past-Chair of the Business Archives Section of the Society of American Archivists.



The Central Ohio Chapter of the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) is to provide an organization through which members of ASIS&T located within the Chapter area may participate in and carry forward the programs and purposes of ASIS&T. The Chapter shall promote the interests of the Society and its programs and shall make every reasonable effort to involve students of information science who are located within its boundaries.
