The State Board of Education is seeking nominations for appointment to a five-year term on the board for the State Library of Ohio. The State Library Board consists of five members appointed by the State Board of Education. The Board typically meets six times a year beginning in January.

Information about the duties of the Board and its meeting schedule are under the About section at https://library.ohio.gov/about/. Specific powers and duties also are in Section 3375.01<http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/3375> of the Ohio Revised Code.

The term begins immediately upon appointment and ends Dec. 31, 2021.

Current State Library Board members are:

  *   Krista Taracuk, of Columbus (term ends Dec. 31, 2017)
  *   Laurie Gemmill Arp, of Columbus (term ends Dec. 31, 2018)
  *   Melissa Hendon Deters, of Mason (term ends Dec. 31, 2019)
  *   Michael Merz, of Dayton (term ends Dec. 31, 2020)
Please email a completed nomination form<http://education.ohio.gov/getattachment/State-Board/State-Board-Reports-and-Policies/State-Libary-Board-Nomination-Form-2016.pdf.aspx> to SBOE at education.ohio.gov<mailto:SBOE at education.ohio.gov> by Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017. The State Board of Education will meet Feb. 13 and 14 to consider the appointment.
