TITLE Library Assistant, Scholarly Resources & Special Collections

POSITION DESCRIPTION Working under occasional supervision, the Library Assistant 5 will perform advanced tasks and oversee a variety of administrative procedures coordinating services offered in the Hatch Reading Room for special collections and ensuring the security and preservation of the library's unique materials. The Library Assistant will support other department operations, including archival processing, and will supervise student workers. This is a two-year, term position supporting the operations of Kelvin Smith Library’s special collections unit during a major archival processing project.

QUALIFICATIONS Required: 6 years of relevant experience. High school education required. Strongly prefer at least two years of college or Bachelor’s degree.

Supported by an endowment, the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship integrates e-research and digital scholarship services.  Founded in 1826, the University is an internationally recognized private research university serving 4,400 undergraduates and 5,650 graduate students with a full-time faculty of 3,055.
