The Sisters of the Precious Blood in Dayton, Ohio are seeking a professionally trained and experienced Archivist who would continue to build upon an already established archives. Preference will be given to candidates with training in Archival work as a career.

The ideal candidate would have a Master’s degree in archival work or appropriate field, or be working toward these goals. Has a minimum of 3 years of professional archives experience. Is knowledgeable about Catholic practices and beliefs. An understanding of religious life is preferable.

Some position responsibilities include: maintaining an inventory of archival records which date back to 1834, processing new materials, providing reference/research services and identification/verification of new materials coming in.

Required skills include: proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the basics of Photoshop; the ability to find, research, retrieve, and display archival materials; and have written and verbal communications skills.

The Archivist will work in an established, living archives with established policies and procedures and will maintain a working relationship with the Precious Blood Community. The Archivist will report to the Secretary of the Congregation.

The Congregational Archives are located at Salem Heights in Dayton, Ohio. This position would begin in October, 2018.
