[SOA] (Correction issued) Seeking nominations for co-chair (2018-2020), ALAO Special Collections and Archives interest group!

Seeking an enthusiastic and committed cochair for the ALAO Special Collections and Archives interest group (SCAig), beginning in July 2018.



The term is for 2 years, staggered with the other cochair term, and runs July-June. Must be member of both ALAO and the SCAig.



Please send expressions of interest to current cochairs, carleton at ohio.edu<mailto:carleton at ohio.edu> & npavlik at bgsu.edu<mailto:npavlik at bgsu.edu> by Monday, May 28.



Duties of cochairs include:
-          Programming the annual SCAig workshop/conference (acquiring venue & speaker(s), managing budget and PR, running event the day of, etc.)
-          Attending the annual ALAO board retreat/training, this year on July 20 at OhioNET.
-          Attending the ALAO annual meeting (hold roundtable or some other informal IG activity, display trifold, sponsor a session and moderate it)
-          Attending quarterly IG cochair phone meetings with ALAO IG coordinator
-          Submitting quarterly reports to the board
-          Updating IG web page
-          Managing SCAig Google Group (List)
-          Submitting updates to ALAO Newsletter



About SCAig

SCAig Purpose

The purpose of the Special Collections and Archives Interest Group is to provide a vehicle with which to discuss and disseminate issues and developments pertinent to special collections and archives in Ohio academic libraries.



SCAig Goals & Objectives

-          To provide opportunities for networking with colleagues with similar interests.

-          To provide an opportunity for professional service and development within the state for special collections librarians.

-          To encourage discussion of topics relevant to academic special collections and archives.

-          To increase visibility of special collections and archival materials across the Ohio academic community.

-          To hold an annual meeting to discuss business for the upcoming year.

-          To hold an annual workshop to exchange ideas or techniques on issues or developments relevant to the special collections and archives field.

-          To encourage and sponsor more conference sessions, presentations, and panel discussions about topics related to special collections and archives.
