[SOA] Call for Volunteers: AAM LGBTQ+ Alliance’s Task Force for Transgender Inclusion

The American Alliance of Museums LGBTQ+ Alliance’s Task Force for Transgender Inclusion is seeking volunteers to participate in creating a Communications Guide and Resource List for the interpretation and discussion of transgender and gender nonconforming narratives in museums and cultural heritage institutions. This guide will promote the use of appropriate language to refer to transgender individuals and identities in cultural heritage settings. It will also support trans narratives within historic collections and creative interpretation to better document the history of gender diversity.

Professionals with an interest in transgender inclusion working in archives, museums, and other cultural heritage institutions are encouraged to take part in creating this resource. Participants may take part anonymously if preferred.

The Task Force will begin meeting biweekly on Thursday, August 19th at 4:00pm ET.
