Due to the ever increasing volume of CD's in various forms and DVD's
being added to our collection, cleaning and repairs are becoming more of
a daily chore. I'm interested in hearing opinions, first-hand
experiences, and recommendations on CD/DVD repair machines. I am NOT
interested in hearing about Skip/Disk Doctors. I've only found one good
use for such "machines"; the noise they make sounds like an old
fashioned ice cream machine and it brings back fond memories. :)

Anyways, so far I've considered the following:

RTI Group - DiscChek Eco-Junior (about $3000) - all scratches
Azuradisc - 747 (about $1000) - light scratches *only*
Azuradisc - 1600 2X (about $2000) - all scratches

Both companies say they are better than the other. Any direct
experience with either? If so, what are the maintenance costs? How
well does either perform? Is there a better machine that I haven't
found yet? I just talked to the RTI rep. on the phone and he says that
many libraries toss their Azuradisc machines for the RTI machines. Any
truth to this?

Thanks for any input,

Avery Shifflett
