January's Feature: Achoo! What you can do to fight colds and flu!

The colds and flu season have arrived, and this year seems to be worse than
usual. What can you do to stay healthier? NetWellness provides many helpful
tips to help you and your family stay as healthy as possible.

Feature Department: Otolaryngology, Head, and Neck Surgery

 Otolaryngology as a specialty at the University of Cincinnati College of
Medicine is heralded as one of the premier ear, nose and throat programs in
the country.  Recognized by US News and World Report, America's Top Doctors
and Best Doctor's in America, the sixteen physicians associated with the
academic department are all full-time faculty of the College of Medicine and
are recognized leaders in the field. The program and its specialists serve,
not only the citizens and physicians of the greater Cincinnati community,
but draw patients regionally, nationally and internationally:

*	Specialize in disorders and tumors of the head and neck, skull base,
ear disease and related disorders allergy and sinus disease and voice
diagnostics and rehabilitation.
*	Widely recognized for its advanced techniques in skull base surgery
*	Nationally acknowledged researchers in the fields of head and neck
cancer, hearing loss and pediatric airway disorders.
*	Offer specialty centers for the diagnosis and management of balance,
taste and smell and voice disorders.
*	Maxillofacial prosthetic laboratory for the prosthetic
rehabilitation of the post-surgical and post-traumatic patient.
*	Provides Tinnitus and Meniere's community support groups and
outreach programs.
*	Strong community ties including The Facial Foundation to assist
women of domestic and criminal violence who have no means of paying for
treatment of facial trauma participation and inner city youth programs.

New Topic: Bipolar Disorder (Children and Adolescents)

Bipolar disorder (previously known as manic-depression) is a serious mental
illness that involves recurring episodes of depression, mania, or mixed
symptoms. The number of children and adolescents with this disorder is
unknown but more than 2,000,000 adults are affected. While there is no cure
the symptoms can be treated.  NetWellness is pleased to welcome Mary A.
Fristad, Ph.D., A.A.B.P. and Nicholas Lofthouse, Ph.D. from the Department
of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University who will answer your questions on
this disease.

New Speech/Language Pathologist Expert

NetWellness welcomes Dr. Gloriajean Wallace, PhD, a Medical Speech-Language
Pathologist from the College of Allied Health Sciences at the University of
Cincinnati. Dr. Wallace will be answering questions in the areas of Brain
Attack/Stroke and Rehabilitation.

New Articles - Diet and Nutrition

Bonnie J. Brehm, PhD, RD , an expert in Diet and Nutrition, has written  new
articles for NetWellness titled: "Energy Bars: Better than a Candy Bar?",
"Trans-Fatty Acids:  Coming soon to your food labels!", and  "Tips for
Healthy Eating during the Holiday Season".
