Do you see your library as a center for public dialog or a symbol of freedom
of expression? Is so, perhaps you'd be interested in participating in The
September Project. The September Project encourages libraries and other
public places to give meaning to the events of 9/11 by serving as venues of
free expression and to foster democratic values. Events planned for the day
at various libraries throughout North America and Europe include public
forums, readings, children's programs, and voter registration drives. So
far, approximately 85 libraries have committed to being involved, but more
are joining all the time. Why not add to Ohio's representation by planning
an event for 9/11?

Already have an event planned for 9/11? Let The September Project know so
they can share your ideas with other libraries.

If you're interested in learning more about the September Project, go to
www.theseptemberproject.org <http://www.theseptemberproject.org> . If you'd
like specific tips on holding public forums in libraries, I'd be happy to
answer any questions you might have.
