Partnership is the key concept when considering applying for grants.
Yet the concept may be even more important to reviewers of grant
entities who look for collaboration when awarding funds.

OHIONET is pleased to offer a Grant Proposal Workshop for Digitization
and Preservation Projects led by OCLC's Tom Clareson. In addition to
focusing on how to prepare for and write grants for digitization and/or
preservation projects, this workshop is different from others in that
attendees will explore collaborative partnership opportunities to apply
jointly for Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grants. We
encourage librarians, archivists, curators, historians, directors IT
systems personnel, grant writers and staff to take this opportunity to
participate in this collaborative grant writing workshop. =20

Outcomes: The ability to properly choose and prepare a grant proposal,
including
* Evaluating appropriate funding sources
* Project preparation
* Hands-on practice in preparing a proposal

In an attempt to provide a no-cost, convenient forum for our members to
learn about enhancements to OCLC's Resource Sharing, Reference,
Cataloging, Group Services, and CONTENTdm products and services, we are
partnering with OHIONET members to offer three OCLC update sessions:

* November 16 at Cuyahoga County Public Library
* November 18 at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton
County
* December 9 at OHIONET offices in Columbus
