Dear Librarians and Media Specialists:

As community leaders in supporting and encouraging our youth to read,
you
may find the following information to be of value to you.

NoveList continues to add valuable components to its
offering,
with one of the most highly applauded being Book Discussion
Guides.
Now NoveList offers a Book Discussion Guide as support for the
Nationwide Reading and Discussion of the novel Nineteen
Eighty-Four
by George Orwell, an initiative undertaken by the National Council of
Teachers of English (NCTE).

The NCTE is sponsoring a nationwide reading and discussion of George
Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four for this fall, 2004. They are asking for
educators and students as well as the general public to read the book
and
discuss it and what it might teach us about life in the contemporary
United
States.

In response to this request, NoveList has just added a Book
Discussion Guide for Nineteen Eighty-Four. If you have not had a chance
to
look at or use a NoveList Book Discussion Guide previously, now is a
great
chance to become familiar with them. These robust guides provide an
author
biography, a plot summary, several questions with thorough answers, and
suggested further readings. These guides are not only perfect to use
with
book discussion groups, but they are also excellent aids for teachers in
the
classroom or for readers looking for a way further to enhance their own
reading experience.
