Freedom in Times of Crisis
http://www.gclc-lib.org/ce/viewevent.php?id=494
Date:
Thursday, April 21st, 2005
Time:
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location:
GCLC Office
Speaker:
Mike Brickner, Program Coordinator, ACLU Ohio
Description:
Privacy issues impact all libraries and the ways they communicate with
patrons. Mr. Brickner will address current threats to privacy rights,
especially post 9/11. He will also focus on free speech restrictions.
These issues are particularly important to libraries when you consider
the chilling impact that privacy invasions have on free expression and
the desire to learn new things. Current legislation and litigation in
these areas will be reviewed.
Join us for this controversial crossroads.
