LIBRARY DIRECTOR POSITION

Highland County District Library has an opening for an energetic 
Director of our four-library county system located in Southwest Ohio. 
Aided by an Assistant Director and three Branch Managers, the Director 
oversees the Main library in Hillsboro, Ohio, and three branches in 
recently constructed buildings. We serve a population of 41,963, with 
25,705 registered borrowers, and are still expanding with an average 
annual growth of 10% over the past twelve years. The system participates 
in the SEO consortium along with 65 other Ohio libraries.

This is a warm welcoming community with opportunities for participating 
in community affairs. Highland County continues to grow and has 
excellent schools.

Candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain effective 
working relationships with the staff and public. Must be able to 
communicate, both written and oral, have the ability to interpret 
community interest and needs, ability to plan library services, meet the 
public and maintain their confidence. Experience in selection of public 
library materials is preferred.

made by the Board of Trustees, and coordinates library participation in

Salary range begins at $42,000 and is commensurate with experience and 
ability.

experience with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, history of 
community involvement, and ability to coordinate supervision of a staff 
of forty. OLC Certification is preferred.
