Rocky River Public Library Book Festival Showcases 50 Authors

The Rocky River Public Library Book Festival, featuring 50 Ohio authors and book illustrators, takes place on Saturday, April 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Don Umerley Civic Center, 21016 Hilliard Boulevard in Rocky River.   The festival is free and open to the public.
Meet your favorite Ohio authors, including Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Connie Schultz, Neil Zurcher, Vicki Blum Vigil, David Lee Morgan, Jr., Bob Dolgan, Michael Heaton, Lawrence Krauss, and Sam Fulwood III, and purchase signed copies of their books.  Congressman Dennis Kucinich will be on hand to discuss his book, A Prayer for America.   Fiction, non-fiction and children's authors will be featured, along with book illustrators/photographers and poets.
Authors are scheduled to talk about their books throughout the day.   Learn about book illustration, writers' groups and book discussion groups in the area.   
You are invited to bring in your own rare or collectible books for informal appraisals (limit 3).   Attendees will receive a 10% discount on book purchases and prizes will be awarded.     The Women's Committee of Rocky River Public Library is sponsoring this event.
A portion of the proceeds from book sales will benefit the Hancock County (Mississippi) Library system, a Gulf Coast library system hard hit by Hurricane Katrina. The Rocky River Public Library has been sponsoring fund raising events to assist this library system in rebuilding and refurbishing.
