[OPLINLIST] DAS rate increases

FYI,

I just received a phone call that the rates for our T1 through OPLIN/DAS
will be increasing a little over $25 per month to $275.  Since I have
already filed our Erate forms for the 2006-2007 period and cannot increase
that funding request to include the increase, we are looking at paying an
additional $25 per building per month for the next 18 months out of the
general fund with no Erate discount (which in our case is 80%).  Although I
planned for some increase in costs, I estimated only about half of what we
now need.  If you have not yet filed your Erate forms for 2006, please
re-evaluate your rates for DAS before you file your form 471.

Since we have seen more and more encouragement from the state to file Erate
forms, I would ask that people keep filing windows and deadlines in mind
when they consider making changes.  I guess I need to push deadlines to the
limit and not try to get things done early.
