Dear Colleagues:

 

We have had a parent request to block myspace.com.  We haven't seen any
reason to block it and feel that parents need to communicate with their
children about internet safety.  We are taking steps to do a better job
of educating parents about sites such as this and the possible
disclosure of personal information by minors.

 

However, we have heard that other libraries ARE blocking myspace and
similar websites.

 

Please let me know if you are blocking it and the reasons you made the
decision.
