Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes to headline SLAF 2007

 

            Cherishing Family: A Spring Literary Arts Festival will close with a grand finale on Sunday, April 15 in McArthur, Ohio with musical performances by Backwords and headliner Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes.

            Backwords is a vintage rock and roll band (based in Athens, OH) often billed as "the iron dukes of rock and roll." The six-person band has been around for nearly 30 years and is famous for its long sets and rich harmonies. They pride themselves on being "a danceable band," so be sure to bring your dancing shoes and be prepared for a rockin' good time.

Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes is a band (based in Nashville) that is known for rockabilly, blues and southern rock music. Randy Moore of Humble, Texas has made music his trade for 15 years, touring the world and opening shows for Hank Williams Jr., Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Vince Gill, and Amy Grant. He now tours the country with his band, the Fabulous Suedes

            Members of the Fabulous Suedes have experience working with major recording artists including Roy Orbison, Dwight Yokam, Alabama and Radney Foster. 

            Get ready to hear a little bit of everything, but with a focus on classic rock in the concert by Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes. Some of their favorite numbers are by Waylon Jennings, Commander Cody, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Little Milton and Carl Perkins. 

            The band is to be featured in a major motion pictured about the life of the legendary Carl Perkins. The screenplay was co-written by Randy Moore and will be directed by Billy Bob Thornton. 

            Backwords will perform on April 15 at 1:30 p.m. and Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes will perform at 3 p.m. Both concerts will be held at the Vinton County High School. 

 

Cherishing Family: A Spring Literary Arts Festival is sponsored by the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library and the Friends of the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library, Inc., in McArthur, Ohio. The festival opens at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007 and the last event will commence at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2007. All events are free and open to the public.
